NASCAR is downright inspiring lately
Bubba Wallace and Richard Petty Motorsports have become a surprising beacon of unity and hope these past couple weeks. Despite the acts of horrible, racist people trying to instill fear and divisiveness, NASCAR has come together to support their only black driver and shown the rest of America the right way to respond.
The league supported Bubba when he showed up to race with “Black Lives Matter” painted on his car.
NASCAR banned confederate flags from all their races and properties (finally!) at Bubba’s request.
When someone threatened him with a crudely-made noose hanging in Bubba’s garage, the league condemned it and team owner Richard Petty spoke up strongly:
ESPN and the sports world spoke out against it, also:
The entire field of drivers joined together to push Bubba’s #43 car to the front of the field at Talladega this week:
Bubba himself has stood bravely and been determined to show up and race like any other driver, because that’s who and what he is.
Bubba Wallace, Richard Petty, NASCAR, and that field of drivers and crews – we here at Gearhead Living applaud you. Motorsports is setting the example America should follow. #BLM
