The Fate of SEMA 2020

The impact of COVID-19 has affected every single human on this planet with a “stay at home order”. One can only wonder about the jewel of November – SEMA Show 2020 – and its fate this year.

As an active car enthusiast, I look forward to my time in the desert. It is an opportunity to touch and feel new products, meet new people and possibly have your car featured in a booth. The SEMA show for many of us gives us a chance to meet and talk with vendors and to possibly make a deal with swag, parts or sponsorship.

But will this year be different?

Handshakes have become the cornerstone of the American business. We use it as a friendly greeting to say hello, goodbye and to finalize the business deal. It is something instinctual that we all do. Social distancing and quarantine have drastically changed the way we interact with each other. Long gone are the days of extending your hand out to have someone do the same. We are no longer shaking hands these days, at least we are not supposed to be.

What are the chances of a virtual SEMA? With the world constantly changing and video calls becoming today’s normal that could be a possible alternative.

The city of Las Vegas has endured a lot in the last few years and has learned from these past incidents. The 2020 SEMA Show and the COVID-19 virus is another hurdle for the city of Las Vegas to overcome.

The SEMA Show has placed this link for current updates. Since the show takes place in November, there is still hope that SEMA will still happen.

For this car enthusiast, SEMA 2020 is a must after all the world has been through the last few months.
